Nice People

Theater: Klaw
Opening Date: March 2, 1921
Performances: 120

Playwright: Rachel Crothers
Director: Rachel Crothers
Producer: Sam H. Harris

Partial Cast: Katharine Cornell, Edwin Hensley, Francine Larrimore, Guy Milham, Hugh Huntley, Merle Maddern, Frederick Perry.

Tallulah's Role: Hallie Livingston

Rachel Crothers (who had earlier cast Tallulah in 39 East) wanted her again for her new play, which enjoyed a moderately successful run. Tallulah's role was the biggest she had played so far and her character was not too far from her own personality. The New York Times noted, "There should be a special word of appreciation for the comely and competent Tallulah Bankhead who luxuriates in a feline role."

Talllulah's comments: "As Hallie Livingston I flouted the conventions, dressed and acted daringly, revealed a considerable fraction of my person."
